Raw surveillance data that serves as input to derive meteorological information can be supplied in various manners to EMADDC. This can be directly via Air Traffic Service (ATS) Providers or via the use of local  Mode-S EHS/ADS-B receivers. Please be advised that EMADDC can only use surveillance data if it includes active interrogations of BDS registers 5.0 and 6.0 within the same radar revolution.

Mode-S EHS and MRAR data is supplied to EMADDC via the following methods in order of EMADDC preference:

• by local ATS ANSP
  • ASTERIX CAT048 or ASTERIX CAT062 format (preferably through NewPENS)
• by using a local Mode-S EHS / ADS-B receiver
  • operated by ADSB Support
  • operated by supplier
• as text (ASCII) file by either ATS or local Mode-S EHS / ADS-B receiver
• EMADDC is connected with the European NewPENS network to facilitate the direct and immediate distribution of surveillance data from Air Traffic Service Providers in real-time. This method has now become the preferred approach for EMADDC to receive data from ATS Providers.

If you would like to share your data with EMADDC please follow these steps to distribute your data to EMADDC. The first step is to upload test data using SFTP. After a preliminary analysis of the test data the added value can be determined after which a data sharing agreement will have to be signed before proceeding to step 2 and 3.

EMADDC will also process ADS-C and other aircraft data if and when available. Please contact the EMADDC team if there is an apportunity to provide aircraft data to EMADDC.
