As a result of this reduction, EMADDC is now able to make data available on the SFTP servers approximately 35 minutes past the start of a window, compared to a previous delay of roughly 50 minutes. This change was implemented on all operational systems on August 22, 2022.

This change requires no changes from users and only makes the observations available more quickly. The EMADDC team is extremely grateful to acknowledge the efforts of MUAC in this regard!

Many users have requested EMADDC data to be available quicker for different kind of (new) applications including NWP assimilation. This will be further addressed by moving towards near real time processing of EMADDC data in the cloud, which is foreseen in 2023.

In the meantime, EMADDC is testing new methods to make data available faster in the current operational setup. Keep an eye on the EMADDC website or sign up to have details emailed to you when updates are posted.
