The data are received in real time via NewPENS and include observations from several Portuguese radars. The observations generated from this new source have been tested and validated during the past week on the EMADDC acceptance and testing system(s).
The introduction of this data stream significantly improves radar coverage over Portugal and adjacent parts of the North Atlantic airspace. The new observations provide additional spatial coverage and complement the existing radar observations already available through EMADDC from ENAIRE (es) and ADSB Support (adsb-supp).
All observations originating from this new source and published through EMADDC files can be identified by the source identifier “pt-nav-pt”.
This enhancement represents another step forward in strengthening EMADDC’s pan-European radar data coverage and improving the availability of high-quality radar observations for its users.
