The data are received in real time via NewPENS and include observations from three separate Czech radars. The observations generated from this new source have been thoroughly tested and verified against corresponding Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) products and have demonstrated good data quality.
The introduction of this data stream significantly improves radar coverage over the Czech Republic and also enhances coverage over parts of Poland. The new observations provide more detailed and distinct data and complement the existing radar observations already available through EMADDC from MUAC (nl-muac), AustroControl (au) and SloveniaControl (si).
In parallel, the CANI data are also being processed in near real time on the EMADDC 3.0 system and will be made available soon for testing by a selected group of users.
All observations originating from this new source and published through EMADDC files can be identified by the source identifier “cz-cani”.
This enhancement represents another step forward in strengthening EMADDC’s pan-European radar data coverage and data quality for its users.
