ADSB Support has been providing valuable data from their older receiver network since 2020. The source of this data was referred to as as-met. At the peak of its coverage, as-met supplied data from over 35 receivers spanning most of mainland Europe.
ADSB Support has begun decommissioning the old network as they replace outdated receivers with newly developed units. These new receivers no longer support the as-met stream. Consequently, EMADDC and ADSB Support have collaborated to establish a new real-time data feed.
The new source, named adsb-supp, has been under testing since March and became fully operational, with data processing commencing on April 1st. Initially, its coverage includes data from receivers still supported by the former as-met stream, extended with additional coverage over Iceland. Information about the coverage can be found in the Quality Reports. Coverage will gradually expand to more receivers in Europe and include additional global receivers for the EMADDC 3.0 system.
Since summer 2024, the coverage of the as-met stream has rapidly declined, and it now only contains data from receivers over the Faroe Islands, northern Sweden, and Moldova. These remaining receivers are scheduled for decommissioning shortly. EMADDC will consequently discontinue the ingestion of this data within the coming days. Until then, data from both as-met and adsb-supp are available in the data products, with duplicate records being removed during processing.
