Following the unsuccessful upgrade of ftpservice.knmi.nl, KNMI's IT provider has dedicated significant resources to identify the root cause and ensure the success of future upgrades, while also incorporating user feedback. In addition to the new operating system and upgrade procedure, new settings will be implemented to enable users to utilize SSH keys for authentication. A comprehensive guide with detailed instructions will be made available soon. In the meantime, if you wish to use SSH keys, please reach out to the appropriate department at wa-applbeheer@knmi.nl.
The KNMI FTP server, ftppro.knmi.nl, has already been upgraded and is available for testing your data transfer system. EMADDC strongly encourages all users, whether downloading or uploading data, to test the new settings. This server can also be used to test SSH key functionality; however, please contact wa-applbeheer@knmi.nl in advance for further assistance.
The initial upgrade attempt is scheduled for April 14th, with backup dates set for April 16th and April 23rd.
Please be advised that EMADDC continues to recommend that users utilize the configuration specified here for connecting to KNMI's FTP servers.
