Previous reports featured static images depicting total coverage and individual sources, which did not provide sufficient detail. The new interactive map now defaults to showing the total coverage of all unique observations for a given day, week, or month. Users can leverage the legend and selection box on the right to switch from the total view to individual sources. Please be aware that overlapping sources may be present, and the displayed density value reflects each selection individually without adjustment.
Users now have the ability to zoom in and out using their device's touchpad or mouse scroll wheel, or by utilizing the plus and minus buttons located in the top-left corner. The density values are represented on a rectangular grid measuring 0.5 by 0.5 degrees, and the color scheme is based on a logarithmic scale.
The interactive map on the EMADDC Met Office Global Data QC page contains substantial data, which may result in slower loading times on older computers or browsers. All maps feature regional boundaries, which can be disabled through the legend.
EMADDC values your feedback on this new functionality and will consider opportunities for enhancements in the upcoming EMADDC 3.0 release.
