Update 12-11-2024 11:00z: The upgrade took longer than anticipated but has been successfully completed. Data is now being distributed to EMADDC's processing system, and there will be some delays in processing all data. The first files from the previously missing time window are now available again on KNMI's FTP servers as well as on the DataPlatform (KDP).
Due to weather circumstances, the upgrade planned for today (11 November) will not be performed. It will likely be performed tomorrow (12 November)
Update 12-11-2024 8:10: The upgrade will start at 9:30 today (12 November 2024). A second time slot is available in the afternoon starting at 13h if weather conditions require it.
Update 11-11-2024 10:00: Time slot for 12 November is in the afternoon. The upgrade is planned to start at 13:00 LT (12:00 UTC).
EMADDC uses this distribution system to receive files from suppliers, either through their own hosting platforms or KNMI's FTP server(s). Conversely, this system is also used to upload EMADDC data products to KNMI's FTP servers for user download.
The upgrade is scheduled to begin at 13:00 LT (12:00 UTC). During this time, EMADDC data products will not be available until the upgrade is completed. Data received during the outage will be retroactively sent to EMADDC, and processing of this data will occur with an added delay during our regular 15-minute processing runs. Please note that the processing of fast files (5-minute files) will not take place, and fast files will only be created once data transfer and processing have returned to normal.
The EMADDC Met Office Global products will not be impacted by this update and will continue to be available during the upgrade as usual as these files are not distrubuted using this platform and are avaialble on KNMI's DataPlatform.
Please be advised that this upgrade differs from the previous upgrade attempt of KNMI's FTP service (ftpservice.knmi.nl), which was unsuccessful. KNMI intends to revisit this upgrade in the near future; however, no specific timeline has been established at this time. EMADDC will provide an update on this matter as further information becomes available.
